Optoma launches ML300, Lamp-Free and PC free 300 Lumens Ultra-Portable LED Projector

London, January 2012. Optoma have launched the latest addition to their range of ultra-portable LED lamp and PC free projectors. With the launch of the ML300, and weighing a mere 635g, the ultra-slim LED projector is designed for everyone needing a powerful portable projector on-the-go. The LED-powered ML300 is capable of 300 ANSI Lumens and produces images of exceptional colour fidelity using the latest DLP™ technology.

Using “lamp-free” LED technology, Optoma is able to achieve an astonishing and eco-friendly 20,000 hours LED life…the equivalent of 8 hours use per day for 10 years whether that’s from watching a film or making a presentation to the board.

Projecting photos, movies, PowerPoint presentations or spreadsheets with the ML300 is straightforward. There is no need for conversion of files either since full file support, including Microsoft Office® file formats, is provided. More than 1GB of internal memory is provided or content can be read from the micro SD slot which is capable of accepting cards of up to 32GB or alternatively from the USB input. In fact, in most situations, that means there is no need to carry a source device.

However, the ML300 is compatible with the latest HDMI enabled tablets such as the iPad2® so that presenting to an audience or watching a film at up to 160” wide using the ML300 and a tablet is now a realistic and exciting possibility. The native resolution WXGA (1280 x 800) of the ML300 will always guarantee a superb image.

Head of Product Management Justin Halls commented. “The Optoma ML300 ultra-slim portable projector is the perfect partner for anyone who needs to create an impression on the move. In many situations the perceived brightness of an LED projector can be up to twice the brightness of an equivalent lamp-based projector. Combined with the extraordinary life of LEDs, the ML300 will be clear and bright for many years to come.”

The ML300 has a wealth of inputs making it suitable for the most demanding users. It’s simple to connect an iPad®, mobile phone, digital camera or console, but for those occasions when there isn’t time, or it’s not necessary to store the files on a memory card, Optoma have included HDMI, VGA and USB connections to facilitate use with most other video sources.

The Optoma ML300 projector is available in January 2012.
