Optoma launches ML500, Lamp-Free LED 500 Lumens Ultra-Portable Business Projector

London, September 2011 - Optoma today announced the latest addition to their range of business projectors with the launch of the ML500, a 1.1kg ultra-slim LED projector for the professional. The ML500 is capable of 500 LED powered Lumens for exceptional colour fidelity and reliability.

Using the very latest “lamp-free” technology Optoma is able to guarantee the LED life for an astonishing, eco-friendly 20,000 hours.

Head of Product Management Justin Halls commented. “The Optoma ML500 ultra-slim portable projector is the perfect business partner. In many situations the perceived brightness of an LED projector can be up to twice the brightness of an equivalent lamp-based projector. Combined with the extraordinary life of LEDs, presentations will be clear and bright for many years to come.”

Weighing just 1.1kg and measuring 220mm x 170mm x 42.5mm (W x D x H) the ML500 is ideal for the business professional on the move who insists on making the very best impression. The ML500 produces images up to 180” (457 cm) 16:10 WXGA (1280 x 800) Widescreen resolution.

Projecting photos, movies, PowerPoint presentations or spreadsheets with the ML500 is straightforward with full file support including Microsoft Office® file formats. There is no need for conversion. By using the 2GB internal memory or the SD slot which is capable of accepting cards of up to 32GB, in most situations, that means there is no need to carry a source device.

The ML500 is compatible with the latest HDMI enabled tablets such as the iPad2® so that presenting to an audience using the ML500 and a tablet is now a realistic and exciting possibility.

ML500 has a wealth of inputs and outputs making it suitable for the most demanding of business users. However, for those occasions when there isn’t time, or it’s not necessary to store the files on a memory card, Optoma have included HDMI, VGA and USB connections to facilitate use with most sources. Simply plug your USB stick into the USB input to simply and efficiently have access to files, there’s no need to convert them either

It’s simple to connect an iPad® iPod®, iPhone®, mobile phone, digital camera or mobile gaming devices but with the inclusion of an HDMI, VGA and USB, it’s now possible to use the ML500 with a laptop or netbook too using the supplied cables (one of three supplied as standard in the box) to the output source.

The Optoma ML500 projector is available at the end of September 2011.
