Optoma expands Digital Signage capabilities with range of specialist LCD screens

Excellence in projector technology transferred to state-of-the-art digital signage solutions

London UK, September 2010: Projector specialist Optoma, having entered the digital signage market in 2009 with the launch of the successful SignShow D5000 high definition (HD) media player and the SignShow 7POP, have augmented the range with the introduction of four LCD panels. The panels are available in touch and non-touch variants and offer a host of options for system integrators and VARS.

The products are the first additions of many planned for the Optoma SignShow range. Each panel is specifically designed to offer installation partners flexible, profitable, high specification digital signage solutions that suit a number of applications, such as commercial, retail outlets, hotels and leisure chains, restaurants and bars, plus travel sites such as airports and train stations.

Largest LCD screen in the range is the 22” OP1022, available with a 3M surface capacitive touch option for particularly demanding installation environments. The screen is fully compatible with the proprietary Optoma InfoSAP software. The screen features a full 1680 x1050 resolution of addressable pixels. For environments where resistive touch screens are suitable, Optoma have the PV839C, a 19” 1280 x 1024 resolution touch screen and the 15” PV768T featuring 1024 x 768 of addressable pixels. Finally, for complete flexibility, Optoma propose the PW780, measuring 18.5” and 1366 x 768 resolution, this touch screen can be supplied in either a capacitive or resistive touch variant in accordance with the customers’ requirements. All screens feature analogue and digital inputs.

Combined with Optoma SignShow D5000, an advanced HD media player that provides the ideal hub for powering any stand alone or networked digital signage installation, these screens provide a compelling solution to the Digital Signage marketplace.

With SignShow InfoSAP Creator and InfoSAP Admin Software for Windows included as part of the complete offering, users can easily design, preview, publish and manage the schedule signage content and messaging. Full LAN network capability also means the media player can be controlled, configured and managed remotely.

“The out of home (OOH) media market is expected to quadruple from 160 million Euro in 2007 to over 626million by 2012, driven by retailers, brands and advertisers who want to better target consumers away from home*,” said Bob Johnson, Product Manager of Optoma Digital Signage Division. “Optoma has recognised the potential of this market and through the development of our range of high specification, yet cost-effective digital signage solutions we can enable installers to take full advantage of this growing demand.”
