Optoma launches PK201, the very latest in Pico Pocket Projectors

London, May 2010 – Following the continued success of the Optoma Pico PK101 and PK102, Optoma bring more features and functions to the range with its latest Pico projector the PK201.

The Pico PK201 retains the pocket-sized form-factor weighing just 160g, that contributed to the much heralded success of the original and now builds upon it with higher resolution and brightness.

The Optoma Pico PK201 is probably the brightest battery-operated Pico projector on the market today,” commented Head of Product Managent, Justin Halls. “With the added benefit of increased resolution and brightness the PK201 is a highly credible business tool, brilliantly handling and projecting highly professional looking PowerPoint ® slides, photo and video files. After work, watching a downloaded film is possible given the battery life of around ninety minutes.”

Projecting photos, movies or PowerPoint presentations with the Pico PK201 is straightforward using the micro SD slot which is capable of accepting cards of up to 32 Gb. In many situations, that means there is now no need to carry a source device. There’s also no need to carry a heavy and bulky power supply as the Pico PK201 has a rechargeable battery capable of giving up to an hour and a half of use on a single charge.

However, for those occasions when there isn’t time, or it’s not necessary to store the files on a memory card, Optoma have included VGA and USB connections to the specification to facilitate use with most sources. It’s simple to connect an iPod®, iPhone®, mobile phone, digital camera or mobile gaming devices to the Pico but with the inclusion of a VGA and USB, it’s now possible to use the Pico PK201 with a laptop or netbook too using the supplied cables (one of four supplied as standard in the box) to the output source.

The Optoma Pico PK201 projector is available now.
