Optoma introduces the brilliant DS211 and DX211 SVGA/XGA Projectors.

London March 2011 – Extending the range of their best selling portable projectors, Optoma has announced the DS211 and DX211 (SVGA and XGA resolution respectively).

Aimed specifically at the home entertainment market, the versatile SVGA resolution DS211 delivers high brightness console gaming and big screen movie viewing in a portable projector package. The DX211 meanwhile, with XGA (1024 x 768) resolution, is ideally suited to the boardroom or classroom environment with its ability to delivery sharp and detailed presentations and graphics.

Continued technology developments have led to a significant increase in lamp-life for the DS211 and DX211 over its predecessors. Both projectors now offer up to 6000 hours lamp-life, leading to a more environmentally friendly projector and lower running costs.

Both projectors have substantially improved contrast ratios of 3500:1 too, producing sharp detailed presentations and graphics when used in the boardroom or at home. Couple this with of 2500 ANSI Lumens and both projectors will produce stunning images for those using this projector in home entertainment environments with ambient light for a large screen experience.

“The SVGA DS211 is the perfect projector for the home, its 2500 ANSI Lumens of brightness and high contrast with low running costs, make it everything you’ll need for entry level home entertainment. The DX211 is XGA resolution and therefore more suited for that important business presentation or in the classroom but of course can still be used for watching a film or playing games in the home at the weekend.” said Optoma Product Manager, Justin Halls.

Connectivity is straightforward; laptops, PCs and gaming consoles are all catered for with an extensive set of inputs and outputs including SCART.

To ensure that the image is truly life-like, Optoma has included Texas Instruments BrilliantColor™ technology ensuring that colours are vivid even when images are projected at maximum size. Indeed, so confident is Optoma of its picture quality that its unique guarantee warrants image and colour quality will remain as new for at least five years.

The DX211 and DS211 include a wealth of energy saving features such as less than 1Watt standby mode, automatic shut down and quick start-up and shut down. Optoma is committed to keeping the running costs of projectors as low as possible, but perhaps more importantly preserving valuable resources.
